About the Event
This is a hands-on spiritual experience rooted in African diasporic prayer and breath traditions. Participants will each receive a simple cord or beads with twelve knots, each representing a breath cycle tied to an intention—Root, Courage, Gratitude, Surrender, Mercy, Clarity, Peace, Trust, Joy, Truth, Protection, and Return. Guided by Afro-Dominican healer Brenda Polanco, the group will learn a rhythmic breath pattern and whispered affirmations for each knot, creating a “breath rosary” they can carry and use anywhere. This portable spiritual tool draws from global African-descended traditions of tactile prayer and meditative repetition, offering participants a deeply personal method for grounding, clearing the mind, and reconnecting with Source.
Whether used in moments of stress, before creative work, or at the start of the day, this practice offers a way to pause, breathe, and realign with the divine current that sustains us.
